how to do a professional manicure - step by step
Manicure is indispensable for most woman. If you are upset, heartbroken or worried about something, manicure is a great way to make yourself feel good. In a way, we can say that manicure keep you away from depression and anxiety. With these steps, you can give yourself a saloon-like manicure at home. Let’s get started!
1. Essentıal tools
You are going to need these tools when giving yourself a manicure
- Acetone or any nail-polish remover
- Cotton pads or swabs
- Some hand-cream you like
- Nail oil ( you can use any kind of natural oil but we recommend jojoba oil)
- Orange stick
- Glass-file
- Base-coat, nail polish, and clear top-coat
That is all you need! Now it is about time to give those nails some attention and love they need.
2 .Remove The Old Nail-Polish
Grab your cotton pads and nail-polish remover and get these old and nasty nail-polish off of your nails!
3. Remove The Cuticles
Actually, you won’t remove your cuticles. Grab an orange stick or anything that is gentle with your cuticles and a natural oil that you like the most. It can be coconut oil, apricot oil, olive oil, jojoba oil… Apply the oil around your cuticles and massage them a little. Wait about 3-5 minutes until the oil is absorbed. Now, gently push your softened cuticle. Don’t cut them, just gently push. After all the nails done, go and wash your hands.
**We want to recommend you oils rather than the marketing cuticle removers. Don’t waste your money. Natural oils are both budget-friend and more beneficial for your cuticles and nails. Also most of the oils helps to grow your nail faster.
Another benefit of the natural oil application around your cuticle is: Oils reduces breakage! If you ask how this oil stuff reduces the breaking risk, I’ll tell you. Natural oils can be absorbed from your skin unlike the other marketing cuticle removers or marketing oils. In fact, they are most likely to dry your nail out. Sorry not sorry girls, facts are facts. Also, who wants to waste their money to something that is processed over a pure and natural option?
4. Shape The Nails
Take your glass file and start filing it in one direction, from one end of your nail to the other. You can do whatever shape you want. But slightly rounded or square-rounded nails are easy to work with.
**We don’t recommend metal or harsh files for your nail. Because they are so hard on your nail, it most likely cause breakage. Also if you don’t want to give yourself a split end manicure, you don’t want to use these files.
5. Moisturize Your Nails
Massage into the cuticles and all over the hands to hydrate and replenish skin.
6. Prep For Polish
When you moisturize your hands, the ingredients left on your nail and prevents a good nail-polish application. To give yourself a good nail-polish application you need to remove any residue with cotton pad and nail polish remover. The most important step is this step: be sure the nail has absolutely nothing on them.
7. Paint Your Nails (Step by Step)
First, apply your base-coat and prep your nail for the nail-polish. Don’t rush! Let the coat dry. When it is fully dried you can apply your nail-polish. Usually, nail-polishes not opaque in one coat. So apply at least two coats of nail-polish. Last but not least seal the deal with thick coat of top coat!
8. Moisturize Your Hands One Last Time
When your top coat fully dried, apply a good moisturizer to your hand and ROCK THOSE NAILS!
